The Gateway to Wilmington's Downtown
NSBER launched a multi-phase, urban revitalization project in Wilmington's only remaining undeveloped, hostoric area. The original "gateway" to Wilmington's downtown, Phase I of the project, The Ships Tavern Mews, includes the rehabilitation of 22 existing buildings into 83 rental units and 33,000 square feet of retail space. With upscale, boutique-type retail on the first level and residential spaces above, the project returns an underutilized area to a thriving 24-hour community.
The historic rehabilitation of the buildings complies with City, State and National Public Safety regulations. The project involved a complex public/private financing arrangement.
