Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse renovated two buildings that once housed the offices and operations of the Kirk-Stieff Co. -- a popular maker of silver flatware and other items. Stieff's most unique feature is its landmark sign - a large structure that sits on top of the original building (circa 1928). Light bulbs illuminate "Stieff Silver," which can been seen throughout the Jones Falls Valley, especially from I-83. Struever Bros. has refurbished the sign, and it also has preserved original building structures, such as brick façades, its copper lobby awning, industrial ceilings, metal window frames, and some hardwood floors. Current tenants include the project's architect - GWWO Inc., the human services agency People Encouraging People and the preservation organization Parks and People Foundation. The Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering is leasing the entire 1970 building. Stieff is easily accessible from I-83 or via a shuttle service to the Woodberry light rail stop.
