A Center for Baltimore's Cultural Experience

MOUNT VERNON NEIGHBORHOOD

Scope of Investment
1209 North Charles, a $42 million private mixed-use project; State Center, a $800 million, 25-acre project.

The historic neighborhood of Mount Vernon is located in the center of Baltimore City and only two blocks from Amtrak's Pennsylvania Station. The Peabody Conservatory, Center Stage, the Walter's Art Gallery, and the Baltimore School for the Arts make Mount Vernon one of the City's cultural centers, and the local businesses, retail shops, restaurants, bars and cafés make this a fun and convenient place to live or do business. This neighborhood offers excellent access for rail commuters and direct access to downtown's Central Business District, the University of Baltimore, the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and The Lyric Opera House.

For more than 15 years, SBER's main office was located at 519 N. Charles Street. Our investment in this neighborhood started 25 years ago with the redevelopment of Brown's Arcade. Now our commitment has grown to include 1209 N. Charles, a mixed-use project including condominiums and retail space. 1209 North Charles consists of 103 for-sale condominiums, 16,500 square feet of retail and restaurant space and 140 structured parking spaces.

SBER IN THE COMMUNITY

This summer, as part of its ongoing commitment to Baltimore's communities and schools, SBER will spearhead the creation of a brand new playground for the Midtown Academy. This award-winning, high-performing charter school is a valuable asset for the Mount Vernon neighborhood. SBER foresees a longstanding and deepening relationship with the Midtown Academy and the Mount Vernon neighborhood as a whole.
