Breathing new life into a truly historic place.
Built in 1904, the Skylar Building once housed the manufacturing warehousing and administrative operations of the Bagby Furniture Company — a key player in Baltimore's burgeoning furniture industry. The complex is composed of four buildings: the main four-story brick and timber frame structure; the kiln building; the lumber storage building; and a two-story masonry addition that links the main building to the kiln and lumber shed. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Both federal and Maryland historic tax credits were used to finance the renovation.
