IMPORTANT NOTICE

The Baltimore Marathon is scheduled for October 11. We strongly encourage everyone to carefully plan their route to our site to avoid delay at street closings. Your best bet is to arrive by 8:00am.

The Baltimore Marathon’ scheduled street closings:

  • Harford Rd to 32nd St. – closed from 8:35 AM to 1:35 PM
  • 33rd /Alameda/33rd to Guilford Ave. – closed from 8:40 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Guilford to 28th Street to Howard Street – closed from 8:50 AM to 2:30 PM

Getting to the Site

We will meet in the parking lot of Abbottston Elememtary / Stadium School located at 1300 Gorsuch Avenue. For detailed directions on getting to the site, please go to: Parking and Directions

Getting Registered

Be sure to register! Let us know you are coming so we can have work assignments planned, T-shirts ordered and plenty of food available.

Getting Started

As soon as you arrive on the site, look for the registration station. All volunteers must register in order to work. You will need to check in even if you have told us you are coming via the website. At the registration table you will receive a T-shirt and a work assignment.

Schedule of Activities

  • 8:00 – 8:30 Volunteers check in and register. Coffee and donuts will be available.
  • 8:30 – 1:00 Volunteers clean and beautify the site.
  • 1:00 – 2:30 Party/Thank you celebration: At the end of the day we will celebrate our accomplishments with a party. All volunteers are welcome to attend.

About the work

We will spend the day painting the exterior of the Youth Dreamers youth center, clearing ground materials from an overgrown lot, preparing the soil and planting flowers, shrubs and trees, building arbors and fences, and creating and installing public art projects, including decorating pavers and painting a mural!!! We need carpenters, painters, artists, landscapers and hard working laborers. When you sign up, please let us know if you have a particular specialty in any of the aforementioned areas.

Scope of Project

What to Bring

If you have a reusable water bottle, please bring it. This will help us cut down on plastic. We will have water available in thermoses.

Wear shoes and clothes that are appropriate for painting and landscaping. Chances are you are going to get dirty!!

If you have a pair of work gloves, bring them along!!
